Share and Edit LoanAce Files Remotely

To share and edit your loan files from anywhere, we suggest Windows Live Sync[1]. Live Sync is a free service, compatible with LoanAce, giving you the ability to access and edit files remotely.

Share loan files with anyone. Assign permissions based on the level of access you want them to have. Shared files synchronize in real-time eliminating the need to e-mail files back and forth.

Follow the step-by-step instructions to set up WIndows Live Sync for your LoanAce loan files. If you already have Windows Live Sync installed skip ahead to LoanAce Specific Instructions.

Sync Install Instructions
  1. Go to https://sync.live.com.
  2. On the sync homepage click "Get Started".
  3. Sign in with your Windows Live ID (Hotmail or MSN e-mail).
    1. Or create a new one.
  4. Click "Install Sync" and follow the install instructions.
  5. Click "Install for Windows".
  6. Click "Save", make note to where you saved the file. Click "Okay".
  7. Open to where you saved the file in step 6. Double-click on Windows Live Sync.
  8. Click "Run" then "Next".
  9. Review the user agreement box and click "Next".
  10. There might be a security warning, click "Yes".
  11. After installation is complete launch Live Sync from your start menu.
  12. Sign-in and wait for the program to connect to the server and click "Finish".
  13. Repeat these steps on the other computers you want to be able to share files with.

Note: If you use the same Live ID on a different computer you will see a "share folder wizard". Do not select any folder here.


LoanAce Specific Instructions

Before proceeding, put the most recent copies on the computer you want to designate as your "Primary LoanAce Computer." Move or delete any extra loan copies out of the LoanData folders on all other computers.

Note: Multiple copies of identical files on other computers LoanData folder, will result in multiple copies of the loan within LoanAce.

Go to the Sync home page https://sync.live.com/home.aspx.
  1. To synchronize your LoanAce files on two or more computers that you work on click create a personal folder. (ex. to sync your home and work computers).
  2. To share your loan files with someone else, click create a shared folder.


The steps are similar regardless of the option above, for example we will use option "a".

  1. Click Create a personal folder. Select the computer designated your"Primary LoanAce computer".
  2. Click either Documents or My documents.
  3. Click LoanData and choose Sync folder here.
  4. Select the second computer and click the LoanData folder for this computer as well.
  5. Select Automatic synchronization and click Finish.


All loan files on your computer will now synchronize with one another whenever connected to the internet. All changes made will be reflected within LoanAce.
